A new adventure
Hey, and welcome to AdeBrewBeer.
I'm Adrian Don and I'm starting a new adventure into the fantastic world of brewing beer.
By way of some background, my first job, way back, was serving beer in the Bridge Hotel, a famous Newcastle upon Tyne pub. Since then, I moved into running pubs then onto brewery sales for regional independent brewers Camerons and Jennings.
I left the trade some years ago - I'm now a professional commercial photographer - but always had a passion for beer and breweries, and a fascination for brewing, but never got round to doing anything about it. The Covid pandemic has sparked me into making a lot of life changes and taught me that it's never too late to make changes, and if you want something badly enough, you have to go for it!
So here I am. On the bottom rung of the ladder into brewing. Although I have loads of knowledge about brewing, I need to get formal training so I completed a four day practical brewing skills course at the internationally-known BrewLab, and I've just enrolled into the industry recognised Institute of Brewing and Distilling General Certificate of Brewing course, and am also now a member of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling.
I'm based on Tyneside and actively looking for work experience in local breweries. I know the Covid situation isn't idea but if you can help, I'd be more than grateful if you'd get in touch.
I'm going to be writing about my experiences on my journey, and about beer and brewing in general
so I hope you'll drop in and see what's happening from time to time on my blog page.
